There is so much material on the Internet regarding Internet marketing. If someone tries to digest all of this information at one time, they will experience a bad case of online marketing indigestion. Not exactly a good feeling to have and I’ve had these feelings before as well. While the prospect of becoming the go-to big shot for all things Internet sounds enticing, the solution to this issue is to narrow your focus down to one niche.
It is much easier to become an expert and build authority in one area than it is for multiple. There are countless ways to make money in the world today. You can make money in real estate, the stock market, by owning your own brick-and-mortar business and numerous other ways. But the people who really do well in this world financially are known primarily for one core area of expertise. What do you focus on? Many things or one thing? Find something you like doing and become an expert at it. It sounds easy, but the trick is finding something you like doing that is profitable financially and this is the secret to making money on the net. If there is a market for your product, you can sell it. Do a search on google and see how many results your area of focus will bring up. If you use keywords, you will get better results. The more targeted the results the better. It is easy to develop a product when you are an authority in that area because you know something that your buyers or audience don't. You are the expert and they are not. They will pay large sums of money to acquire your expertise. As marketers and content creators we must understand that our time is extremely valuable and the more we focus on too many things, the more time is wasted. Time that could be better spent focusing on one niche. It takes time to study what your niche market wants. After you discover what they want, give the people what they desire. If your friends want Little Caesars Pizza and you get them McDonald's, they’re probably not going to be all that happy. In the same way, if you give your target market something different then what they are asking for they will find someone that can deliver their needs. So make the best use your time and learn what your target market wants. Once you have determined what they want, if you do not already have a product build around their needs create one. Remember what they have told you and use their feedback as your blueprint to create a great information product. As an authority in your niche, people look to you to provide the answers to the questions regarding your area of expertise. You answer their questions with your products. You can also become qualified as an expert by creating a blog about your niche and having your readers post their questions on your blog. People have no problem supporting a product when they trust the person they are buying from. A blog is a great, simple way to create an atmosphere of trust. You can get to know your customers on your blog and they can get to know you, establishing a relationship where both parties benefit. No matter how many ideas or ideas for niches you have, the most important thing is to implement them. Don’t sit around reading about a dozen niches, focus on a (profitable) niche that you enjoy and take action. With time and perseverance, one niche can definitely make you rich. If you have any experience with deciding niches or how you yourself benefited from focusing on a specific niche, feel free to leave a comment. |
